BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Located in public gardens. Sun face with 8-point compass rose, only labelled N, S, E, W. (False) date 1767, motto around the perimeter ’ Let others tell of storms and showers, I’ll only count your sunny hours’. Aligned Arabic numerals 4 - 12 - 8, from outside, divided to 30, 15 and 7.5 minute intervals. Pedestal rustic design with floral decoration.
