BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Essex

Thick square slate dial, with corners rounded off. Signed at the south, read from the north ’ MACRAE / 34 Aldgate St LONDON’. Aligned numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, from outside, with noon gap, divided to 30, 15 and 5 minutes. Full length hour lines. Mounted on terracotta plinth with raised floral decoration and rope banding around the top.
