BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Bramdean House (2), Bramdean

A square dial with an unusually long thin gnomon, recently (as at 2011) repaired and replaced. Inwards facing Roman numerals, with no hour lines or subdivisions visible. There is a motto ’Come Day, Go Day’ in what looks like an early 20th century font. The maker’s name might be ’C B Rolson, London’, or possibly Robson or Hobson. Square cross section pedestal with downward-tapering body, deeply carved with cherub’s head and possible monogram. The dial came, in about 1950 - 1960, from Abbotsworthy House (Kings Worthy, Hants). See also SRN 2923 for a second dial in the same gardens.
