BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Buckinghamshire

The dial is on an octagonal section pedestal and top, in gardens to the north side of the Hall. It has a substantial dial plate with a 16-point compass rose labelled to SSE etc. Anticlockwise EOT with months to the outside, with ’Watch Fast / Slow’. IIII - XII - IIII - VIII read from outside, with noon gap. Half hour lines with fleur-de-lys, 1/4 and 1/8 hour divisions. Outer ring has 10, 5 and 1 min divs. At the S, from the S, extensive floral engraving, and ’H. Haywood maker / Smithing St / Exeter Devon’.
