BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Devon

A copy of SRN 7177, made in blue/black Cornish slate with bronze gnomon. C St J H Daniel delin, Mark Cokayne Frith fecit. Inscribed ’Bradstone Combe, Devon / Lat 50 36 N, Long 04 17 W’. Sun image at centre of delineation. Upright numerals VI - ’+’ - IV ’ VI, with hour lines and short half-hour lines. Below is a plaque ’Made to mark the eclipse of the sun 11th August 1999. To replace an older sundial’. The gnomon is pierced in such a fashion as to give the effect of the eclipse at the moment of totality.
