Roman numerals 4am to 8pm. The vertical side of the gnomon indicates the sun’s azimuth. This Millennium sundial, intended as the first part of a larger 12-unit analemmatic sundial project, was found to be 8 minutes fast, ie 2 degrees out of alignment and 2.78m too far west of the meridian, due to error by the surveyors.
