BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial was designed by the architects J Pamphilon of Calum Anton, and made by Messrs Tulloch of Inverness & Orcadian Stone Coy. Each side of the gnomon has a buckled belt inscribed ’DREAD GOD’ around an eagle, the motto and crest of the Clan Munro. Above and below this are the Gaelic inscriptions ’CLANN AN ROTHAICH (Clan Munro) / BIODH EAGAL DE ORT (Dread God or The Fear of the Lord be Upon You’. There are Roman BST hour numerals, read from the inside, and the delineation also allows for the location being 17.5 minutes behind greenwich.
