BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Lane Hatch, Langford

The dial is in the rear garden of the house. Constructed from concrete in 2000, this 300mm square horizontal dial shows in small numerals the hours V - VII undivided. The gnomon is of brass and it is loose. The dial has the motto ’Eheu fugaces labuntur anni’ (’Alas the fleeting years are slipping by’. A quotation from Horace.) The garden is open occasionally in the National Gardens Scheme.
