BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Lower Hope Garden (1), Lower Hope

On the lawn to the left of the house is a bronze equatorial dial by Silas Higgon, a contemporary maker, which was put here in 2000. It is in the form of a 7-ring armillary sphere with the tropic rings unusually set parallel to the equator. Small Roman numerals show the hours V-VII. It is mounted on a cylindrical stone pedestal.
