BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Wiltshire

Highly professional dial, the maker unknown. Mis-aligned by 45 degrees. No hour markings, but unexplained initials clockwise from noon: DJ, I, W, A, L, A, BW, T, Y, W, T, A. NW corner ’Winter’; NE ’Spring’; SE ’Summer’; SW ’Autumn’. Square section marble (or polished granite?) pedestal, 1000 high, inscribed in memory of John Nagle Dec 1913 - Jan 1986 and Doris June 1916 - May 2000.
