BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Guernsey

Across the top is ’Made by NDG’ (the N and the D sharing a common upright), and in a small semi-circle around the gnomon root is the date ’1787’. There is also a date ’1877’ on the dial face, but this is probably a later addition, together with ’JDG’ at bottom left and ’ER’ at the bottom right. Numerals VI - XII - IV - VI, with hour lines, and half and quarter hour divisions.
