BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Chastleton Glebe, Chastleton

This is a cast bronze horizontal dial with all the markings in relief. It shows the usual hours 4am to 8pm divided into halves and quarters but only the numerals VI - VI are shown.Noon is marked by an O. At the south is a winged hourglass. The gnomon, which is set at 40° has a bird as its supporter. The dial carries a quotation from Browning; ’Grow old along ith me, the best is yet to be.’ It has a rough cast concrete pedestal with a staddle stone as its cap.
