BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Gloucestershire

The original dial was C18, and re-carved on the same stone in 1995. The dial is to be found to the rear of the house, on the S wall, about 3500 up. 8-point star at gnomon base. Upright Arabic numerals 6 - 12 - 5, with hour lines and quarter-hour marks. To the right, ’ C / A & C / P’. The C at the top is for the Rev Cocks who commissioned the original dial. He was Charles and his wife was Ann. By chance the current owners are Adrian and Cassandra, so the original initials were retained, with the addition of a further P for their surname of Phillips. See SRN 7114 for the adjacent W declining dial on the same corner stone.
