BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Gloucestershire

The dial is in the west corner of the SW garden. It is in a poor state, with a base plate 230 square, and a central circular plate of 170 diameter, now detached; and the gnomon is loose. Inscriptions ’E R / 1905’ (for Edward VII); ’Hic Horologium ...’ and a great deal else, currently illegible. Well worth careful cleaning to recover the rest and possibly a maker - could be a bespoke Barker dial?
