BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Nottinghamshire

32-point compass rose, labelled NNW etc around outside. Alternate points, simple lines labelled radially, SWbS etc. ’Equation of Natural Days’ scale, months, minutes (1 min steps, numerals only 1 mm tall) WATCH FASTER/SLOWER. Months run clockwise, eg Jan. In two separate arcs, with scrolls at ends. In gap at N: ’THO EAYRE / Kettering Fecit’. Oakleaf border. Two rings of geographical place names with XII for noons. Difficult to read but includes London at c. 11:58, Dublin, Paris, Candia, Naples etc etc. Unusually, also includes York. At S large monogram, unidentified and Lat 52° 20 Chapter ring: IIII-XII-VIII. Inner, divided to eighth-hours, halves with three-arrow markers. Outer, to 1 min intervals, labelled 10,20,30... Fleur-de-lys half-hour marks. Fluted column with mushroom top.
