BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

15 deg meridian lines, equator, tropic and polar circles, plus two(!) ecliptic lines. Upright Arabic hour numerals, with each hour divided to quarters, marked below the equator line. Zodiacal symbols are present. Near the top are the remains of an inscription ’***ngel / 1**0’. The dial appears to be of the type that functions by reading the terminator shadow. No evidence of a former saddle gnomon, and no hole at the north pole to take a pin gnomon. Currently incorrectly mounted with the axis vertical.
