BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Situated to left of the church path, this circular dial is slightly skewed on a square plate. Across the top is the location, squeezed in the centre to fit the gap between the circle and the square. It has cursive Arabic hour numerals 8 - 12 - 4, read from outside, divided to 30 and 15 minutes, and the latitude and longitude are given. It stands on a tall octagonal pillar with an expanded square top, on a four-stepped base.
