Dial in Cheshire

A fine modern dial made in 2008 by Silas Higgon, on a good pedestal, replacing one that wa stolen. There is everything on the dial that a good sundial should have, the time, latitude, the Equation of Time graph to enable clock time to be calculated, a compass rose and a good ornate gnomon. It is also a memorial dial, in memory of Nancy Williams, and on the lower part of the plinth, ’John Hancock Joseph Waring Churchwardens here 1832’. And it is their names and that date that appeared on the stolen dial which was dated 1772.
