BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Wiltshire

Arabic numerals 8 - noon - 7 (and probably originally to 4), with fleur-de-lys for noon. Spear heads for half hours, and quarter hour marks. Inscription along the south side, read from the north, possibly ’Da..d Lad’, but uncertain, and below that, the date ’17 71’. Gnomon with double ’S’ support and unusually long style arm. The upper half had been broken off, restored by C St J Daniel, 2005.
