BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Brockhole Lake Visitors Centre, Windermere

The dial is on the lower terrace. Inscriptions: ’Brockhole’, ’Thou By The Dial’s Shady Stealth Mayst Know Times Thievish Progress To Eternity’, Lat 53 30 N’. 16-point named compass rose. EOT curve. Roman hours 5 - 12 - 7, read from inside, divided 30, 15 and 5 minutes. Circular dial plate sunk in to square stone (slate?) base.
