BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The dial is in front of main entrance. It is a replica of SRN 1086, which was stolen in Oct 2009. Facsimile signature ’F. Barker Clerkenwell’ but also signed ’Reproduced: J. Davis MMX’. Motto ’Ut umbra sic vita’. The dial is rotated on the plate by 19.14 deg. Because the square pedestal has ben rotated by a couple of degrees, the replica has a slightly different rotation to the original. The pedestal has been reset and the top is not perfectly parallel to the base. Motto engraved on bottom level ’Non numero horas nisi serenas’ is lead-filled but some lead is missing.
