BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Dial in slate from Skelwith Bridge, Cumbria. Inscribed ’R Sylvester delin, David Allonby fecit’, and ’Solem quis dicere falsum audeat’ (Let no man say that the sun is wrong), Virgil. Intervals of 60, 30 and 15 minutes, whole hour lines (5am to 11am) with analemmatic curves, that for 11am with month start letters.
