BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Oxfordshire

Circular horizontal memorial dial. This appears to be a modern dial of no great interest, but competently made. It has a noon gap and 30, 15 and 5 minute divisions. The Roman numerals, aligned with the hour lines, are well designed. It is divided quite accurately for this latitude, although it looks mass-produced. There is an 8-point compass rose at centre. The motto ’Amyddst ye fflowres I tell ye houres’ comes from a Victorian novel. The gnomon, although quite sturdy, has been badly bent.
