BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Sundial House, Oxford

Over the front door of the house is a marble rectangle 1074mmh x 654mmw supported on a corbel. At the top is a circular declining dial showing the hours 5am - 6pm. Gold sun rays outside the chapter ring mark the hours and half hours with the quarter hours between them. At the top of the dial is the date 2009 and below it the inscription’Between the Idea and the Reality falls the Shadow’, a quotation from ’The Hollow men’ by T.S.Eliot. Two declination lines mark the owners’ birthdays and the nodus is a small sphere on the stainless steel gnomon. The dial was made by Harriet James.
