BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Market Cross, Shepton Mallet

Across the top of the dial plate there is a date, possibly ’A 1814 D’. Upright Roman numerals using XII. Little else discernible. The copper or bronze gnomon is attached by four bolts. The dial plate sits on a stone shelf and is surmounted by an arched pediment with feather decoration.
