BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Castle Howard House (3), Castle Howard

Dial only known from a Guide Book reference. It is similar to SRN 1894 at Wheelbirks, Northumberland, and SRN 3436 at Middlesbrough, N Yorks. Aligned Roman numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, with 30, 15 and 5 minute divisions, and also New York and Melbourn chapter rings. Many mottoes and quotations in English, Latin and Greek.
