Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Edburga’s Church., Leigh

On the church tower is a vertical declining dial with a horizontal band of numerals cut into the masonry of the tower and one of its buttresses. This arrangement suggests that it is an early dial probably dating from the 17th century. VII (on buttress) - VIII - XII - III, plus IIII above and to the right of the gnomon support. Short (one stone deep) hour lines, and half hour lines. The rod gnomon has a straight support. The dial is about 1800mm across.
