BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Sneaton Castle, Whitby

Bronze dial plate mounted on an ’Oxford’ wooden frame, mounted low on the wall of the courtyard. Motto ’Horas non numero nisi serenas’. Two shields, one ’Sneaton Castle Centre 1998’, the other ?Whitby CoA. Gives Lat and Long, and the declination of 11.97 degrees (East]. Small upright numerals V - XII - IV - V, with full length hour lines and (unusually) half-hour lines radiating from the gnomon root. Short quarter-hour marks in mid-plate. An EoT graph at the bottom.
