BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Devon

In the churchyard is a bronze horizontal dial mounted on a square section stone pillar. An inscription on the pillar tells us that it is a memorial to Richard and Laura Mossop and was put here in 1935. The dial itself is 200mm in diameter and shows the hours V - VIII divided into halves, quarters and intervals of 5 minutes. There is an 8-point compass rose in the centre and the motto "Time Flies".
