BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

School House, Goathland

A vertical circular brass dial fixed to octagonal wooden board mounted on stone wall above the school door. Aligned numerals VII - XII - IIII - VIII, with full length hour lines and half- and quarter-hour marks. Gnomon possibly iron. Motto in the top section of the chapter ring ’MIND YOUR BUSINESS’. Said to possibly be three other dials by the same (unknown) maker in the neighbouring villages of Fryup, Lealholme and Rosedale.
