BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

North Square, Barnet

Mounted above the front door and visible from the pavement. Above the dial, on a separate plaque, is ’LET OTHERS TELL OF STORMY SHOWERS / I’LL ONLY COUNT YOUR SUNNY HOURS’. At the top of the dial itself is the date 1920, and around the perimeter below are the BST hours in small upright Arabic numerals 6 - 12 - 5. GMT hours in the main chapter ring are upright V - XII - IV, with hour lines to a small semicircle around the gnomon root, half hour lines ending in a bold dot, and quarter hour marks. The gnomon is offset about 2 3/4 hours from noon, suggesting a declination of approx 34 deg E. The delineation is not perfect, possibly due to re-painting. This is an unusual early example of a BST dial, the only comparable one in the Register, also dating from 1920, is SRN 0912 at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
