BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Dumfries & Galloway

The dial is on the north gate pillar. It is a well-made slate dial with across the top ’T 1780 C’. Upright Roman numerals VI - XII - IIII, with hour lines to semicircle about gnomon root, half hour lines in the chapter ring, and 15 and 5 minute dividers outside. Designed to decline approx 22 degrees East. Gnomon, probably a replacement, is incorrectly mounted along the noon line. There are signs that may indicate its original position at about 10:15am.
