BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Sussex (W)

The dial can be found on the roadsode pavement, just off the A283, 20 m along the B2139 at the east end of the village. It shows GMT in the main chapter ring with Arabic numerals 6 - 12 - 6 read from the inside. BST is shown on a small inner circle with numerals around showing 8am to 6pm. Hour lines between, and no divisions. There is a broad gnomon but there does not appear to be a noon gap. Otherwise it is a nice dial in a prominent position, with curved EOT graph at the south. Set into a square chamfered mount stone on a tapering square cross sectioned pillar in three sections, approx 1200 high. A dedication plate on the pedestal shows that it commemorates Flood Alleviation work carried out by the Environment Agency.
