BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Ebdon Cottage (2), Lechlade

Horizontal dial mounted as a vertical dial. Aligned Roman numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, read from outside, with noon gap. Divided to 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 hours. 8-point compass rose around gnomon root, labelled to NE etc. Two winged dragons or possibly long-necked cockerels as decoration. Motto ’Sunny Hours’ at S (hence upside down).
