BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Aligned Roman numerals read from outside IIII - XII - IIII - VIII. Sun face with 8-point compass rose labelled to NE etc. In compass direction ring ’I ONLY COUNT YOUR SUNNY HOURS’. Spurious date ’1661’ in chapter ring. Polished red granite pedestal with ’olde’ verses and dedication to Silvia Taylor 1910-1989.
