BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Polesden Lacey [NT] (4), Dorking

Replica of SRN 0011, which was stolen some time before Sept 2005. It is on the same pedestal, with three cherubs, but is half as thick. Poor quality engraving, wrongly set up. 8-point (?) compass rose labelled SW etc, read from inside. Oakleaf border. Roman numerals IIII - XII - IIII - VIII read from outside. Inner ring 10 and 5 minute divs, and diamond half hours; outer ring to 2 minutes, (numbered in 10s?), with diamond half hours. Let into surface of circular capital of pedestal, which rests on the heads of two carved cherubs.
