BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Scarborough

Elaborate pierced iron gnomon with fleur-de-lys at tip. Plain strut as support. Dial plate cracked through gnomon mounting points and RHS cemented over. Upright Roman numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI. Full length hour lines and half hour divisions with dots at quarters. Dial recessed into stonework above window in S entrance porch, and reclines slightly. Anne Brontë is buried in the graveyard extension to the church
