BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Disappointing garden centre dial for such a dedication. Probably a replacement, hopefully temporary, for the original choice. Aligned Arabic numerals 4 - 12 - 8 with short hour lines through the numerals and half, quarter and eighth hour divisions. Sun face in the centre with 8 points, N, S, E W labelled. False date 1767 at the S. Around the circumference the motto ’ Let others tell of storms and showers, I’ll only count your sunny hours’. Plate on the pedestal inscribed ’This sundial has been erected to the memory of Lawrence of Arabia who as Aircraftsman Shaw served in the Royal Air Force in Bridlington between 1929 and 1935’. This is a duplicate report of SRN 1302.
