BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Michael & All Angels Church, Spencer’s Wood, nr Reading

Octagonal brass dial plate with gnomon missing. The dial has Roman numerals aligned with the hour lines and read from inside/opposite. They go from IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with a noon gap. The hour lines terminate on a double circle ornamented with arcs and stars. There are in all four 8-point stars with wavy rays. In the chapter ring there are 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 hour divisions. N, S, E and W are marked with the ends of the letters scrolled. The edges of the octagonal dialplate are chamfered. The dial is screwed to a rough-cut stone plinth in mushroom form. The gnomon is missing.
