BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Railway Tavern, Brightlingsea

Vertical sundial mounted on wall facing approx. SSE. Upright Roman numerals VI - XII - IV - VI, with equally spaced hour marks. Flaming sun face with gnomon from the chin. Design in gold and blue on glazed tile with a sailing ship, anchor and fish. Not an accurate dial but an attractive little ornament.
