BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Hampshire

Aligned Roman numerals read from outside IIII - XII - IIII - VIII with noon gap. 8-point compass rose around the gnomoin root. Anticlockwise EOT in circular segment around s side of the chapter ring, hour lines within. 30, 15 and 5 minutes marked outside chapter ring. Motto to N, read fro N, ’Time watches while opportunity flies / and marks the record where the shadow lies’. Flat blade gnomon 18 wide with profiled section. Round pedestal 1300 high with transition to acanthus leaves. Lower portion has charming wild boar carved in relief on SE side.
