BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Warwickshire College, Henley-in-Arden

This cube dial is a memorial for the two world wars. What is now Warwickshire College was originally Arden House School and it is the old boys of this school who are remembered. Not far away at Hockley Heath is another war memorial sundial (SRN 1842) and it is possible that the inspiration for both these came from Baron Ash (his name, not his title) who lived at Packwood House which itself has four sundials. The Ash family memorial in the churchyard at Lapworth (SRN 1964) is also a cube dial and it seems that Ash must have been a sundial enthusiast. The total height of the structure is about 3 metres and there are dials on three faces of the cube, each about 300w x 450h. The south face shows 6am - 6pm, the east face 5am - 10am and the west face 1pm - 5pm. All have half hour divisions and all the gnomons are missing. The plaques round the square base show a list of names from 1914 -1918 (south), a WW I dedication (north), and a 1939 - 1945 dedication (east). The west face shows a palm tree.
