BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Broc Hill, Brocton, nr Stafford

Analemmatic dial (human gnomon type). Bronze (?) date plate has dates in analemma figure-of-8, flaming sun, and a bee(?) track inscribed ’BST add one hour’. Inscribed in bottom left-hand corner with inverted ’IU’ - possibly designer’s monogram? Boulders for hour markers VI, IX, XII, III, VI, the VI pm boulder inscribed ’analeMMatic’.
