BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

R B Sylvester delin, David Allonby (who carved the Holker dial, SRN 1819) fecit. Arabic numerals 8am to 5pm, with cross patty for noon. Declination lines - summer solstice yellow, winter blue, equinox green, and 11 October red. The latter commemorates the wedding of Robert and Susan Sylvester in 1969, and is also the date of Michaelmas in the Julian calendar. Hour lines and half- and quarter-hour lines from solstice to solstice, with half hours also marked by a punched dot. Noon analemma.
