BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial is to be found on the grave of E W Sargint, and stands on a square-sectioned plinth, 1220 high, rounded in towards a circular head. It uses aligned Roman numerals read from the outside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII With short hour lines through numerals to an eight-point compass rose, labelled to NE etc. 30, 15 and 5 minute divisions are outside the chapter ring.
