BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Inscribed ’Thomas Jones / Charing Cross London’. Aligned Roman numerals read from outside, IIII - XII - IIII - VIII, with noon gap. 16-point compass rose labelled to NNE etc. Anticlockwise full circle EoT. Plinth a stubby circular section vertically grooved column c 600 high surmounted by a hexagonal drum estd 600 across, and decorated with inset carved shields and quatrefoils.
