BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

This simple but competently made memorial sundial is situated to the right of the church door. It has aligned Arabic numerals read from the outside, 4 - 12 - 8, with a noon gap. At the centre is a sun face surrounded by an eight-point compass rose labelled only to N, S, E, W. The hour lines are only drawn through the numerals, with 30 and 15 minute marks outside.
