Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Kent

The dial is in the Swimming Pool Court. It has aligned Roman numerals, read from outside, V - XII - IIII - VII. The hour lines run through the numerals; half hour lines have a ’bud with two leaves’ tip; there are 15- and 5-minute marks. There s an unusual 12-point compass rose, with just N, S, E, W marked. The motto is ’TYME BRINGS EVERYTHING’. The gnomon is in the form of a scaled fish (dolphin?) with its tail supporting the upper end of the style. The pedestal is of octagonal cross section, decorated with matching scales and standing on two octagonal steps.
