BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Helen’s Church, Darley Dale

A church with battlements which also support a sundial with a very ornate gnomon. It is a pity that the dial is flaking. But while you are here the church is well worth seeing, inside and out. Pevsner, ’The Buildings of England, Derbyshire’, has much to say about it, and visit the giant yew tree in the churchyard.
