BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Cotswold Farm garden, Duntisbourne Abbots

Cotswold limestone, iron gnomon. Dial appears older than building, which is a 1920’s ’Arts and Crafts’ house (N Jewson?). May have come from a church. Numerals Arabic and if lightly carved would have weathered quickly, giving an older appearance. Gnomon definitely old. A mystery. Almost no furniture visible - just a numeral ’4’ evident on the rhs.
